Action Plan
Implementing the Plan
In May 2026, the Miami Shores Village Council adopted the Village's first Parks and Recreation Master Plan. Resident input from workshops and last year's community survey played a large part in shaping it. The Village is now preparing for the next step, implementing the first phase of the plan's highest priority recommendations focused on improving and expanding indoor recreation, renovating our existing parks, and improving walkability and pedestrian safety throughout the Village.
Once again, your voice is essential to this process. In the coming weeks, some residents will receive a survey in the mail that asks for feedback that will help the Village understand how residents view different approaches to funding the first phase of the plan's implementation. The survey also asks about broader quality of life issues and priorities in our community. Your input is therefore vitally important. It will help guide how the Village invests in its parks, recreational spaces, and the quality of life of all residents in the years ahead. If you receive a copy of the survey; please complete it - either on the included form or online - as quickly as possible!
An online-only version of this survey will be available to all residents once the initial random sampling is complete. In the meantime, we hope you will review the information below that describes in detail the two (2) funding approaches being considered for this first phase.
